Good News at Noon
Good News at Noon is a transitional shelter in Gainesville that serves meals every day of the year. Celebration Church has been partnering with them for over 25 years, and we currently provide dinner on the second Tuesday and third Monday of each month.
When you volunteer to serve, the food will already be prepared—all you need to do is help hand out dinner trays and spend time connecting with the guests. While you won’t be eating at the shelter, your presence and kindness can make a real impact.

The Discover series offers an opportunity for those new to Celebration to explore who we are in a non-threatening environment. During this two-part series, participants will learn the background, beliefs, and values of celebration while also taking a deeper look at our different ministry offerings. We welcome participants to bring their questions as they look into the life and heart of Celebration Church.
During this second gathering, we will take a look at spiritual gifts and specifically how you can use your spiritual gifts at Celebration.

Summer Book Club
Just Mercy: A Story of Justice and Redemption, by Bryan Stevenson
336 pages
Content Warning: This story includes accounts of racism, racial injustice, sexism, sexual assault, violence, capital punishment, and violent crimes.
Bryan Stevenson was a young lawyer when he founded the Equal Justice Initiative, a legal practice dedicated to defending those most desperate and in need: the poor, the wrongly condemned, and women and children trapped in the farthest reaches of our criminal justice system. One of his first cases was that of Walter McMillian, a young man who was sentenced to die for a notorious murder he insisted he didn’t commit. The case drew Bryan into a tangle of conspiracy, political machination, and legal brinksmanship—and transformed his understanding of mercy and justice forever. An inspiring story, Just Mercy will challenge any Christian serious about God’s pursuit of justice, mercy, and compassion.
We will meet on Wednesday, July 23, at 6:30 pm for our Book Chat.

Messy Game Night
Wednesday, June 4 we will officially be welcoming up our new class of 6th graders with our annual Messy Game night (this event is for all students in the student program, not just the upcoming 6th graders). On Wednesday, June 4 we will meet outside in front of the youth and children building. Students will need to bring clothes that can get extremely messy and dirty, and a towel to clean up with afterward. A change of clothes is not a bad idea to bring for the car ride home. The cost of the event is $5 which covers all of the supplies needed for the games.
We will be selling pizza and soda beforehand (pizza costs $1.50 a slice and soda is $.50 a can) and students can start arriving at the church at 6:00pm to eat and hang out before the game night begins. We will officially start the game night at 6:30 pm and we will wrap up at 8:00 pm

VBS Construction Week
We are recruiting a team of men and women who love to construct things, work with tools/wood/household projects, and have some availability on Tuesday, May 27th - Friday, May 30th in the evenings. We are in need of team members for the VBS Construction crew!! Here are some things that we'll be doing:
Working with table saws, drills, and other power tools to cut and build items for our VBS sets.
Climbing on ladders to hang items, attach items and, possibly help to figure out lighting.
Cutting foam board, painting and finishing off design plans.
Putting together last minute items that are dreamed up.
Dreaming up last minute items. :)
Heavy lifting.
It's a team of creatives and doers, and especially creative doers. We have a blast and it's incredible seeing things come to life as we construct. Team members don't have to be available every night, but any time they can donate is appreciated.
We do need people to bring their own tools.
We also work on Saturday, May 24th and Sunday, May 25th if people are available. And if we still need things done, on Saturday May 31st.
We provide dinner each night, and we usually get started around 5:30-6, but it's really whenever someone can get here.
If this sounds like you, or your spouse - please email Jolie Sims! We know we've got some DIY / Home Improvement type of people out there that could make a huge difference!!!!
